Attendance and Exam Regulations

Valid for Science, Humanities and Social Science courses
Italian language courses regulations will be shared directly by the CLI

  • Attendance Requirement: Class attendance is mandatory for at least 70% of total course hours.
  • Non-Compliance Penalties: Students who fail to meet the 70% attendance threshold will be subject to a penalty determined at the individual teacher’s discretion. This may consist of either additional required study material and/or a mandatory deferral to the following exam session.
  • Absences and Exceptions: No justifications (medical notes, administrative/bureaucratic appointments, etc.) are accepted. All absences, regardless of the reason, fall within the permitted 30% non-attendance allowance.
  • Exam Delivery Mode: Exams must strictly be taken in the study mode chosen at enrollment (online or in-person). No switching between modes is permitted.
  • Exam Sessions & International Exception:
    • Regular exam sessions take place in January and May/June. Teachers may include intermediate assessments during the course.
    • Make-up sessions are held in July and September.
    • Special Exception: During the September session only, students from Science and Humanities holding an expired residence permit who must return to their home country are exceptionally permitted to take the exam online.
