My mom is Brazilian and my father is Italian, making me Italo-Brazilian. I was born in Rome but moved to Rio de Janeiro when I was 1. Then, when I was about to turn 5 I moved back to Rome, where I lived until I was almost 12. That's when I moved to Texas, where I attended eighth grade and all four years of high school. I always had a passion for biology and medicine, which is why my main goal for the future is to study Dentistry to then become a pediatric dentist, since I also love working with children. My favorite hobbies are running with my dog at the park, drawing, cooking & baking, and working on remodeling apartments as an interior designer would. I also love spending time with family and friends since they always bring a smile to my face.

Hello there! 🙂 My name is Sara and I’m 20 years old. I was born in Italy but raised in Sri Lanka. I studied in Sussex College till my ordinary levels but had to move to Italy after that. I love reading, writing, dancing and baking whenever I catch a free time ( you’d love my buttercakes 😉 . I spent the last years here in Milan, tutoring kids and working while looking for a path to get back to my studies. I can’t say how happy I am for the fact that I found the University of Pisa, and being able to get selected as one of their Science foundation year students. I know this is the best first step to my degree in clinical Psychology.

My name is Alina and my nickname in thai is Pear. I’m 18 years old (turning 19 next May). I’m half-Thai, half-Italian and I live in Thailand. I went to see my grandparents and my relative in Italy since I was 1 year old. My grandparents live in Calci, Pisa. When we traveled to Italy, my dad liked to bring us to visit many places and I found out that I really love their culture, history and art. In high school, the main subjects that I studied were science and mathematics. My favorite subject is chemistry, I want to continue to study it in the university but I’m not interested any in Thailand. My dad recommended me about Unipi (he graduated from there, in chemistry), that’s why I chose to study there because it has many interesting things. And I’m taking sciences in this program. In my free time, I like to watch series in Netflix, listening to music(my favorite band is 5SOS), reading books, drawing and hanging out with my friends. I'm so excited to get to know you all!! I am Fidan from Azerbaijan, and I'm turning 17 in October. I'm the only girl of a big family. My family have always pulled me to different extracurriculars. I have done gymnastics for 7 years, however I had to give up on this favorite sport of mine, so that I could concentrate on my studies more. But I am still quite into sports, and I try to workout everyday. I have also attended piano classes for 7 years, and it is one of my favorite hobbies. I chose the program in humanities at university of Pisa as i am so excited to learn Italian language, and i enjoy discovering new cultures. My name is Yuliia, and I'm 17. If you've heard of borscht and “Carol of the Bells”, then you know exactly where I'm from. I'm from Ukraine. Now I live in Bologna . I have visited Italy several times, and I realized that I really like to be here. Nice people, incredible old towns and a high level of education - this is what attracts me so (and of course pizza, lasagna and spaghetti). I like to spend my free time actively. I used to play volleyball, but now I like swimming. However, playing the piano is my greatest hobby. I have been doing this since 9 years. So my tastes in music may surprise you because I love listening to Beethoven and Schubert 😉 Also, I like learning about biology the most. So now I think I will choose between medicine and microbiology. However things can change, and I hope that FCS will help me making the right choice. My name is Darla, I am 18 years old soon turning 19 , I was born and raised in Rwanda in the East of Africa. That is where I live until now. I did my high school studies in the British Cambridge system up to year 11 so I opted for the foundation course at university of Pisa because i think it would be a great path to prepare for my future studies and i am of course very excited to learn Italian language and to discover a new culture. I am currently working in the customer care service at a hospital but when i have some free time I like going out with friends in open spaces since the weather is good almost everyday in my country ( it has a lot of Hills/mountains and green spaces). I also like listening to music (old school rnb) , reading novels ( Danielle Steel is my favorite novelist) and I watch a couple of Netflix series too. I chose the humanities program because I adore history, art (rinascimento è benissimo!) and studying languages so I decided to take FC program in Pisa. I hope in this course I will improve my Italian skills. In my free time it appeals to me reading books (historian), plus I like drawing and listening to music. I used to play violin but then I stopped it. Unfortunately the pandemic situation crashed our plans and I sincerely believe that everything is fine with each of you and soon we will meet in Pisa.

I'm 18, I live in Frankfurt, Germany, but I've got some Italian in my family and in my genes, so Pisa shall be the stepping stone for reconnecting to my roots and polishing up my language skills. I'm studying on the 10-year education track, which is to say I get to take both humanities and science, but it also means my foundation year is set to take a semester longer than all of yours. Apart from making me a truly special snowflake, this means I'll get to know all of you guys in class though, so I really can't complain. Hoping we'll have the time of our lives together in Pisa 🙂

I like traveling and exploring new cultures but this year I got stuck in my town for the whole summer (Not that I don’t like it, but still...).
