The internship in the Foundation Course Project, addressed to students of the Master’s Degree courses of the Department of Philology, Literature and Linguistics of the University of Pisa, is aimed at providing Italian L2 linguistic support in peer tutoring for male and female students from non-European countries participating in the Foundation Course Study Programme.
In detail, the activities that involve the participation of the intern student in the Foundation Course are:
- Support for Italian language lessons at the Italian Language Center (CLI) in Pisa held by expert linguistic collaborators (CEL) for a maximum number of three weekly lessons of two hours each.
- Afternoon linguistic support activities for Italian L2 learners for all linguistic levels foreseen by the Study Program (A1, A2, B1)
- Organization and participation in extra-curricular activities potentially useful for spontaneous language learning, such as educational trips, visits to museums, cooking workshops, art and entertainment events, film festivals, theatrical performances, public events promoted by Pisa’s municipal administration.
The internship offers Unipi students several opportunities:
- experience teaching concepts in the field with a focus on teaching Italian as a second language to foreign students through classroom coaching with expert linguistic collaborators (Cel)
- perfect your linguistic competence in English L2
- know and explore non-European cultural realities
- improve your communication skills and attitude to collaborative work
Linguistic tutoring activities also offer several opportunities to foreign students who choose to take part:
- linguistic support for Italian L2 lessons
- academic support for passing exams at each language level (A1, A2, B1)
- deepening of grammatical notions of Italian L2
- conversation with native Italian speaking students
- participation in extracurricular activities useful for spontaneous learning of the Italian language
These activities are designed to make the study experience at the University of Pisa pleasant, useful and unforgettable both for the foreign students who enroll in the program and for the students of the Philology, Literature and Linguistics courses of the University of Pisa.
